Professorship for conveyor technology, material flow, logistics (fml) Munich

The chair fml at the TU Munich sees itself as an open research institution that wants to contribute significantly to scientific progress in the fields of material flow technology and logistics. With the help of the knowledge gained and its practical transfer, especially to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), an important contribution is made to securing Germany’s position as a logistics location. Findings gained in basic research form the basis for the development of innovative solutions to current and practice-relevant questions from science and industry. Continuous knowledge transfer and problem-specific knowledge adaptation are among the core tasks of the chair as well as the training of young scientists through dedicated teaching activities.

Besides aspects of technical logistics, the main research topics include the control and optimization of material flow processes through innovative identification technologies (RFID), the further development of logistics planning on the basis of digital tools and the role of humans in logistics. The chair fml is involved in the fields of basic and applied research financed by public institutions as well as in research cooperations with industrial partners. Research is usually carried out in interdisciplinary cooperation.
