With a growing warehouse, usually not only the number of articles increases, but often a dynamic in the article assortment is created. Items are regularly removed from the assortment, substitutional items are replaced and completely new products are added to the stock.
If one wants to avoid the regular reordering of the whole warehouse, the ascending article order in the warehouse can no longer be maintained.
Moving away from this simple ordering principle means that people must be assisted in picking by providing a storage location. This is now done through exact storage location management at the item level.
In most cases, warehouse management software is now used.
